In 1999, Wang Fuchun, a Chinese documentary photographer, spent decades traveling and shooting, recording various real-life scenes, and was eager to compile his photographic works into books. As an ordinary salaried worker with modest income, he spent almost all his salary on photography creation and was financially tight. To fulfill his wish of publishing books, he reluctantly sold his three treasured vintage cameras to raise funds. He finished picture selection and layout all by himself, and finally launched early sample copies of *Chinese People on the Train* in cooperation with Heilongjiang Fine Arts Publishing House. These samples were mainly used for industry exchanges, laying a foundation for the official publication of the work.
